Old Ebbitt Grill, Washington’s most historic saloon, dates back to 1856. Just steps from the White House, theaters, and museums, it was a favorite of Presidents Grant, Cleveland, Harding and Theodore Roosevelt. Today it is a popular meeting spot for political insiders, journalists, theatergoers, and celebrities.
The Beaux Arts facade, the marble bars set in brass and beveled glass, and the mahogany and velvet booths evoke Old Washington at its finest; and the Oyster Bar at Old Ebbitt is D.C.'s most famous. From the private Cabinet Room downstairs to the Ebbitt Express for workday carryout, the Ebbitt has remained a Washington landmark. It is the top grossing restaurant in the area, and #5 in the nation. Click here to visit our website. Click here for a detailed history.
